Under the overall supervision of the Director, Coordination Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission for Italy and Malta, and the direct supervision of the Integration Specialist and Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Project Management Team based in Italy with the implementation of the activities under the THAMM Plus Project.
The THAMM Plus programme builds on and complements the regional action “Towards a Holistic Approach to Labour Migration Governance and Labour Mobility in North Africa” (THAMM) phase I and II funded by the EU Trust Fund for Africa and phase III funded by the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation (NCIDI)-Global Europe (NDICI-GE).
High school diploma with three years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited academic institution with one year of professional experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience in the field of migration, with a particular focus on migrants’ inclusion, access to services and labour market integration; at least three years of experience in offering direct assistance and counselling to migrant communities in Italy; previous experience with international organizations, NGOs and/or EU Agencies would be an asset.
In-depth knowledge of socio-economic inclusion aspects of migration; strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing and presentations skills, in a multi-cultural setting; knowledge of the Italian Immigration Act and other national regulations for migrant workers; proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment and office software packages.
For this position, fluency in Italian, French and Arabic is required (oral and written); knowledge of English is considered an asset. IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish. Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
