The Program & Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development and delivery of high-quality, cost-efficient programs and events for USO Centers, supporting tasks related to administration, direction, and recognition of volunteers.
- Develop, plan, and execute outreach programs and events in coordination with USO leadership and external agencies. Solicit and develop resources to support USO events. Acquire and purchase program supplies.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource about programs, events, and services at the USO Center, ensuring they are scheduled and executed within budget.
- Coordinate volunteer operations, including recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing logistics for volunteers and events.
- Assist with communication efforts, including writing announcements, flyers, and social media content. Collect stories and photos for publicity.
- Perform administrative duties as needed and other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 0-2 years experience in administrative, event management, or marketing support; nonprofit or military experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and promotional material design.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Punctual, organized, adaptable, and team-oriented.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Ability to obtain necessary credentials for USO access.
- Supportive of the USO’s mission.
