A leading aerospace and defense company is seeking a Hardware/FPGA Design Engineer to join their Electronics Division in Rome. The role entails designing and verifying electronic boards, developing FPGA firmware, and ensuring compliance with requirements. Ideal candidates will have a Master's degree in a relevant field, technical and behavioral skills, and a willingness to work on-site and travel as needed.

Competenze

We are seeking a Hardware/FPGA Design Engineer for our Electronics Division, HW/FW Engineering unit, based in Rome Tiburtina.

The candidate will primarily be responsible for:

  1. Designing and verifying electronic boards and FPGA implementations, ensuring compliance with electrical and performance requirements;
  2. Designing electrical interfaces and defining constraints for PCB manufacturing;
  3. Performing electrical simulations;
  4. Developing FPGA firmware;
  5. Conducting firmware simulations;
  6. Verifying requirements;
  7. Preparing formal and constructive documentation of activities.

Educational qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electronics Physics.

Experience levels:

  • Junior: 1-5 years
  • Senior: 5-10 years

Technical skills:

  • Fundamentals of digital and mixed analog/digital electronic board design;
  • Firmware development for FPGA using HDL code;
  • Development of Test-Benches for FPGA verification and validation;
  • Implementation of control functions and Digital Signal Processing in FPGA;
  • Defining functional requirements for boards and FPGA;
  • Knowledge of design methodologies and documentation artifacts;
  • Familiarity with measurement equipment like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers.

Preferred coursework:

  • Electronic design;
  • Digital electronics;
  • Signal theory;
  • Measurement systems;
  • Embedded system integration.

Behavioral skills:

The ideal candidate should be willing to work mainly on-site and undertake short to medium trips within Italy and abroad after adequate on-the-job training.
