UNSW has announced a key leadership appointment: Professor of Biotechnology Entrepreneurship to drive translation of discovery into biotech outcomes, including IP, industry partnerships and start-up activities.

The role requires a PhD, a track record in entrepreneurship, and proven leadership in building industry networks, venture engagement and international collaborations. It offers a high-impact, strategic platform within BABS and UNSW.

Formación

• PhD in a related discipline is required or equivalent experience.
• Proven record of biotechnology entrepreneurship including start-up/spin-out leadership and venture/capital engagement.
• Sustained publication in top journals and national/international funding success.

Responsabilidades

• Establish and lead biotechnology entrepreneurship and translational activities within BABS and UNSW.
• Carry out high-level research advancing biotechnology and related disciplines.
• Lead major research programs and secure substantial funding for UNSW projects.
• Foster industry and investor partnerships to enhance research impact and translation.
• Mentor researchers, HDR students and early career academics to build translational capability.
• Drive knowledge exchange and commercialization of research outcomes through patents, licensing, and venture activities.
