PROFESSOR – MULTIVARIABLES CALCULUS (AY 25-26)

As part of our BSc (Hons) AI & Data Science program, we seek a Professor in Multivariable Calculus to teach and mentor students in both foundational and advanced calculus topics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lectures and workshops on topics including:
• Introduction to Optimization: definitions, problem types, and applications.
• Gradient Descent: techniques for finding minima/maxima and understanding learning rates.
• Newton’s Method: utilizing the Hessian matrix and comparing it with gradient descent.
• Constrained Optimization: solving problems with constraints using Lagrange multipliers.
• Convex Optimization: principles and algorithms.
• Applications in Computer Science: network flows, shortest path problems, and machine learning.

Integrate real-world examples and case studies relevant to AI and data science.

Supervise student coursework, including problem-solving and applied projects.

Foster critical thinking and mathematical modeling skills.

Collaborate with faculty to align teaching with AI, data science, and technology programs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficiency in English (B2 or C1 level).
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Strong expertise in calculus and optimization techniques.
• Experience teaching at the university level (preferred).
• Industry experience in AI, data science, machine learning, or operations research (a plus).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
