Silgan Dispensing Systems Milano S.r.l. in Milano, Lombardia, is seeking an experienced Production Planner to coordinate plant production scheduling and inventory management to align with forecasts and JIT requirements.

Responsibilities include liaising with planning and operations, ordering raw materials, preparing forecasts and production reports, and developing daily to monthly schedules. Strong Excel and MS Office skills, detail orientation, and excellent communication are essential.

Position Summary: Schedule all plant production and manage inventories to meet corporate forecasts and internal and external customer sale requirements in a JIT inventory control environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Act as the liaison between corporate planning, inter-plant departments, other Silgan facilities and other customers in regards to the production planning, analysis of sales forecasts, line loading, JIT Inventory control and the movement of cans or ends.
• Schedule all plant production and manage inventories to meet corporate planning and customer sale requirements.
• Order all raw materials including but not limited to metal, coating, stripe, copper wire, chemicals, inside spray, wash coat, dunnage, etc. are in the plant to meet the production requirements.
• Prepare reports which include spreadsheets for weekly, rolling 12 week and monthly forecasts, line loading, final monthly estimates of sales, production, inventory and work orders.
• Develop and issue daily, weekly, monthly production schedules.
• Assist the Office Manager in the areas of budget preparation, forecasting, costing of new items, monthly statements and monthly inventories.
• Supervise Shipping/Receiving Coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Education, Skills, and Experience

• 5 years production planning experience
• Basic knowledge of the operation of the equipment and the flow of material throughout the plant.
• Detail-oriented.
• Understanding of the different identification of raw material, finished product, and customer products.
• Excellent computer skills. Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Knowledge of forecasting principles and production models.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have excellent time-management skills.
• Good mathematical skills.
