Summary of Role

The Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing the daily production activities of the plant in a safe environment. This includes accountability for delivering products on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards. The role also involves providing leadership, guidance, performance management, and coaching to the supervisory management team to enhance their capabilities and productivity. Key priorities include advancing lean manufacturing principles and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Production Management

• Lead overall production activities to meet customer requirements.
• Support the Site Management Team (SMT) in developing strategic action plans to establish production as a reference within the industry.
• Optimize resources (staff, equipment, scheduling, processes) to ensure timely delivery of quality products at or below planned costs while maintaining inventory targets.
• Propose and pilot new projects for process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Prepare reports on KPIs.

People Management

• Lead by example to foster safety behaviors and production efficiency through management and lean methodologies.
• Develop team competencies and skills.
• Create a motivated and engaged work environment to achieve production goals efficiently.
• Maintain positive employee relations and social climate.
• Manage relations with the Works Council in collaboration with the Human Resources Manager.
• Collaborate with supervisors and lead their teams.

Environmental, Safety, Risk & Compliance

• Commit to the Group’s ethics and compliance program, ensuring adherence to core values, policies, training, and risk assessments.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma accepted with strong relevant experience; technical background preferred.
• Previous experience in a production or managerial role.
• Proficiency in English; experience in labor relations is a plus.
• Hands-on, tenacious, team-builder, and relationship-oriented soft skills.
• Problem-solving attitude.
• Experience in lean manufacturing.
