Our client in the petrochemical industry is seeking a Production Engineer.

Overview

Identify and implement process and procedure improvements to increase capacity, reduce costs, and enhance safety and quality in global supply chain manufacturing. Troubleshoot existing processes to improve on-stream time and operational efficiency. Collaborate with operations and team members to improve mechanical and instrumentation reliability. Use process improvement methodologies to support Operational Excellence initiatives aimed at increasing profits.

Job Details

Location: Pasadena, TX

Responsibilities
  • Monitor operating performance and product quality; identify deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot processes and apply corrective measures to improve efficiency.
  • Develop and implement process and procedural improvements to boost capacity and safety while reducing costs.
  • Support plant trials and startups with technical expertise.
  • Create operating procedures and train chemical operators.
  • Propose programming logic changes to improve safety, quality, or efficiency.
  • Gain expertise on process equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, and filters.
  • Write and obtain approval for Manufacturing Change Requests (MCRs) and Process Change Forms (PCFs).
  • Participate in or lead PPA, JSA, and PHA teams.
  • Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and perform mass and energy balances.
  • Define project scopes for small capital projects.
  • Select new process equipment in collaboration with vendors and operations.
  • Analyze data to inform processing decisions.
  • Provide relief coverage for supervision as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong skills in accuracy, effective communication (oral and written), customer focus, attention to detail, teamwork, integrity, initiative, organization, relationship building, and self-motivation.
