Job summary

Rotork seeks a Production and Continuous Improvement Engineer for its Porcari, Lucca site on a 9‑month contract. You will design, implement and document shop floor processes and participate in audits, supporting problem investigations and solutions while applying Lean principles.

Reporting to Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will drive efficiency gains, quality improvements and productivity in a hands-on role within a dynamic production team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering orTechnical Diploma.
• Minimum 5 years as Manufacturing/Production/Industrial Engineer in manufacturing.
• Hands-on engineering-led production experience manufacturing electromechanical products.
• Lean Manufacturing principles and CI methodologies to drive efficiency and quality.
• Proficiency in Lean tools: 5S, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Gap Analysis, Timing Methods.
• Data analysis, process performance measurement, and root cause analysis.
• CAD software experience (AutoCAD, Solid Edge).
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Fluent Italian (advanced) and professional English (B2).

Production and Continuous Improvement Engineer (9 Month Contract)

• Department: Operations EMEA

This is a critical position within the production team working on dynamic challenges and varied projects where you will have a tangible effect on the efficiency of Rotork’s production. It is a 9 month contract position, based at our Porcari, Lucca site.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this role is to ensure the continuous improvements of production tasks and processes during a transformational period of developments and efficiency gains within the Bath factory.

In the Manufacturing Engineer role you will design, implement and document shop floor processes, considering best engineering practice throughout. You will partake in audits, technical support and problem investigations/ resolutions with a view to suggest new processes and equipment where applicable and appropriate.

This role would suit a proactive candidate who is motivated in problem solving and driving solutions forwards. You must be a team player with the ability to work independently and have an analytical mind with an eye for detail.

Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a Technical Diploma.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or Industrial Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in an engineering-led production environment manufacturing electromechanical products.
• Practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and process improvement tools, with a proven ability to drive efficiency, quality, and productivity improvements.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of Lean tools and problem-solving methodologies, including: 5S, 5 Whys, Ishikawa (Fishbone) Analysis, Gap Analysis, Timing Methods
• Proficiency in data analysis, process performance measurement, and root cause analysis.
• Experience using CAD software, including AutoCAD, Solid Edge .
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Fluent Italian (advanced level) and professional English (minimum B2 level).
