Music & Lights Srl, headquartered in Minturno (LT), seeks a product engineering specialist to own a lamp from concept to market, defining specs and validating performance. You’ll test firmware, software, UI and features, and coordinate with R&D and suppliers, with about 20% travel in Italy and abroad.

Competenze

• Passion for professional lighting, especially Concert Touring, Theatre and Broadcast/TV sectors.
• Hands-on use of grandMA3 lighting controllers or equivalent.
• General knowledge of computer networks and main lighting/video protocols (sACN, Art-Net, NDI).
• Familiarity with major market players and their technical specs.
• English at B2 level for technical/commercial discussions with international teams.
• IT skills: Office suite, email and calendar management.
• Professional use of AI tools (e.g. Claude).
• Availability to travel in Italy and abroad (~20%).

Music & Lights designs, manufactures and distributes professional lighting solutions for the Film & TV, Live Events, Theatre and Architectural markets, used in more than 70 countries. You will join the product engineering area, in an international environment, with continuous training and the support of experienced colleagues.

About The Role

You will be based at our HQ in Minturno (LT) and will follow the product throughout its entire life cycle: you will support the definition of technical specifications and performance criteria, take direct ownership of testing and debugging firmware, software, user interfaces and product features, and follow the product into the field, gathering feedback from customers and the sales network and reporting it back to R&D for future development. You will work according to company guidelines and procedures and the direction of your managers, gaining progressive autonomy in technical diagnostics and in dealings with suppliers and customers. The role involves travel in Italy and abroad (around 20%), to customers and suppliers for on‑site activities and to industry trade shows and events.

Key responsibilities

• Support the definition and review of functional requirements, SoW (Statement of Work), components and expected performance, including menu architecture and DMX control, contributing to the drafting of validation criteria.
• Carry out testing and debugging on firmware, software, user interfaces and control menus, verifying product functionality and performance against specifications, and write technical reports on the results to share with suppliers, colleagues and the managers of the business functions involved.
• Prepare comparison test reports on functionality and performance between Music & Lights products and those of competitors, identifying and documenting areas for improvement and strengths.
• Analyse functional deviations from project specifications, engaging technically with suppliers and customers to resolve non‑conformities (functional, performance and/or firmware) based on the solutions approved by the function manager, and take part in analysing feedback and implementing it in future product development.
• Support colleagues in sales and the sales network in product presentations and demos, and support the marketing, documentation and customer service teams by providing the technical information and data needed for manuals, guides and demonstration activities.

Requirements

• Passion for and experience in professional lighting, in the Concert Touring, Theatre and Broadcast/TV sectors.
• Hands‑on use of grandMA3 lighting controllers or equivalent.
• General knowledge of computer networks and of the main network protocols for lighting and video (sACN, Art‑Net, NDI).
• Familiarity with the main players in the market, the most widely used products and their technical specifications.
• English at B2 level, for technical and commercial discussions with customers, suppliers and international teams.
• IT skills: Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email and calendar management.
• Professional use of AI tools (e.g. Claude).
• Availability to travel in Italy and abroad (around 20%).

Preferred Skills

• Technical background in electronics or IT (preferred, not essential).
• Use of BIM software (e.g. Vectorworks) and show visualisation software (e.g. Depence2, Capture).
• Experience with video technologies: LED screens and media servers.

• Strong communication skills, in person and on the phone, also in English and in public speaking contexts.
• Problem‑solving mindset and analytical method.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Teamwork across different functions.

Contract and compensation

• Contract: 12-month fixed‑term contract, followed by a stable, continuing employment relationship
• Classification: CCNL Metalmeccanica Industria, livello C2.
• Compensation: RAL from €26,850 to €29,500 gross per year over 13 mensilità, with professional growth prospects based on commitment and skills.
