Music & Lights Srl is seeking a technically adept designer to join the R&D team at our Minturno HQ. You will develop and document products, producing mechanical drawings and technical libraries for lighting fixtures, working with product specialists, support and marketing.

Do you enjoy contributing to product development and its documentation? In this role you will join the R&D department of a company that designs lighting used on stages, sets and installations around the world. Music & Lights designs, manufactures and distributes professional lighting solutions for the Film & TV, Live Events, Theatre and Architectural markets. About the role

You will be based at our HQ in Minturno (LT), within the R&D department. You will take part in stages of product development and in producing technical documentation and mechanical drawings for our fixtures, working with the product specialists, technical support and marketing. The role includes a growth path aimed at developing skills in product design and technical documentation. Occasional travel in Italy and abroad is expected (around 10%), to industry trade shows and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Write product technical documentation - user manuals, technical libraries and compliance documentation - including the drawings they contain.
• Produce mechanical drawings, dimensioned drawings and exploded views of fixture parts and assemblies.
• Take part in the design and development of lighting products, working alongside the designers on product design and development activities.
• Analyse and test parts and prototypes, liaise with external development teams and prepare the related technical reports.
• Follow up on the implementation of feedback with the supply chain, monitoring progress.
• Work with the product specialists, technical support and marketing to ensure product integration and onboarding.

Requirements

• Knowledge of parametric software (SolidWorks or Creo) and 2D drafting (AutoCAD).
• Ability to read and produce mechanical drawings, dimensioned drawings and exploded views.
• Basic use of control systems for moving lights to support testing and commissioning (e.g. grandMA).
• Basic IT skills: Microsoft Office and email.
• Knowledge of layout software (Adobe InDesign) and of document formatting.
• Technical English at B1 level, for documentation and for liaising with suppliers and international teams.
• Availability for occasional travel in Italy and abroad (around 10%).

Preferred skills

• 3D modelling and rendering with Blender.
• Familiarity with project management tools.
• Professional use of AI tools supporting documentation and design.
• Interest in the AVL industry and in professional lighting.

Soft skills

• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team across different functions.
• Technical curiosity and the drive to grow.
• Good organisation and priority management.

Contract and compensation

• Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract, followed by a stable, continuing employment relationship
• Classification: CCNL Metalmeccanica Industria, livello C1.
• Compensation: RAL from €26,300 to €28,500 gross per year over 13 mensilità, with professional growth prospects based on commitment and skills.
