Affinity Petcare is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join thePurchasing department at the Mantova plant. You will ensure timely availability of raw materials and packs for production and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize the sourcing plan.

We are looking for candidates with at least two years in Procurement/Planning/Logistics, fluency in Italian and English, and experience with SAP and Excel. The role offers growth and development within a global petcare company.

Qualifications

• Two years of proven experience in Procurement/Planning/Logistics.
• Knowledge of Planning principles: stock levels, coverage, order point, lead time.
• University degree; courses in Procurement/Planning/Logistics are valued.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate supply of raw materials and packs to cover requested productions according to MRP and supplier factors.
• Daily follow up on production and sourcing plan to ensure stock and service level.
• Detect and prevent supply risks to minimize shortages and take timely actions.
• Control and optimize stocks according to production needs to avoid overstocks and obsolescence.
• Coordinate with Scheduling and Production planning teams to follow up on production plans and risk assessments.
• Place purchase orders in the system and verify invoices not automatically approved, managing indirect POs as needed.
• Identify and implement process/tools improvements for continuous growth.

Job description

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist, within the Purchasing department, who will report to the Global Procurement Manager at the Mantova plant. In this role, you will be responsible to grant the availability on time and in full of raw materials and packs used in the Mantova plant.

What you will do

• Plan and coordinate the supply of raw materials and packs with different suppliers to cover requested productions according to MRP and consumptions, and considering the specific factors of every supplier.
• Daily follow up production and sourcing plan to ensure right stock and service level.
• Detect and prevent supply risks to minimize these with proper actions on time to avoid shortages in the plant.
• Control and optimize stocks according to the production needs plan and avoid overstocks, obsolescence and supply gaps.
• Evaluation of capacity following deliveries and requested needs. Also, considering contract levels negotiated by buyers.
• Coordination and collaboration with Scheduling and Production planning teams to follow up productions plans and risk assessments.
• Manage proper set ups in the system to ensure an efficient and optimal sourcing plan.And place the PO’s in the system according to the alignments with suppliers.
• Supervise and validate invoices not automatically approved by the system due to price/quantity differences. And manage indirect Purchase Orders in order to authorize differences driven by specific costs.
• In collaboration with the team, identify and implement new initiatives on processes and tools to continuous improving and growing.
• Assure a collaborative approach and fluid communication with the team, suppliers and the different departments involved in daily tasks (Purchasing, Sales&Op, Production Planning, Logistics, Formulation, Quality…).

What we are looking for

• Proven experience of two years in Procurement/Planning/Logistics . Experience in the petfood, food or FMCG industry is highly valuable, preferably in wet production environments.
• Knowledge of Planning principles: Stock level, coverage, order point, lead time
• University degree. Specific courses on Procurement / Planning / Logistics appreciated.
• Fluent in Italian and English.
• Experience working with SAP and good level in Excel.
