You will be part of our Engineering Team located in the new Modena site, responsible for managing all aspects of engineering work to install new equipment, meeting stakeholder expectations for cost, schedule, project control, and reporting.

In this role, you will work closely with our team of local and Japanese engineers through strong collaboration with all stakeholders to achieve the required production volume and implement new products for SMC MCAM's customers.

Additionally, you will support process development, which determines stable process conditions, and implement new products/technologies developed by our R&D team in Japan.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with other managers to define equipment specifications
2. Manage installation/modification of equipment, collaborating with other managers, local engineering companies, and the internal engineering team from Japan HQ
3. Work with local engineering companies to ensure project designs meet or exceed internal and external requirements
4. Negotiate with local engineering companies to obtain the best pricing and terms
5. Manage project budgets, cash flows, and cost reporting
6. Monitor project progress regularly and prepare detailed reports for management
7. Create and maintain project documentation
8. Review technical documentation from local engineering companies

Your Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Chemical or Industrial Engineering
• Over 10 years of experience as a chemical or industrial engineer
• Knowledge of general mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering
• Knowledge of Italian/European regulations, specifically ATEX and PED
• Native Italian speaker and fluent in English (at least B2 level)
• Nice to have: 3+ years of project management experience in the chemical industry, proficiency in construction/project management software (especially Microsoft Excel), knowledge of building and electrical codes
