A Day in the Life

Medtronic is seeking a Principal Pricing Strategist to lead pricing strategy for the EurAsia OLM region—including Western Europe, Australia & New Zealand, and Japan—across Cranial and Spinal Technologies and Neurovascular Operating Units. In this role, you will develop pricing strategies across portfolios and customer segments, conduct value assessments, pricing research, and profit optimization for new product launches, and manage portfolio positioning in collaboration with marketing. You will also identify key pricing levers, estimate opportunities, and support the execution of price increase initiatives.

You will work closely with regional leadership and country business units to develop and implement new business models, create pricing guidelines, and ensure effective execution and governance of pricing deals. The position is flexible within Europe, with a preference for Italy, France, Spain, UK and Czech Republic and may require travel up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned :

  • Collaborate with the International Vice President and cross-functional teams to define, develop, and execute pricing strategies across products, services, and customer segments.
  • Analyze pricing trends, conduct diagnostics, and identify key pricing levers to recommend actions aligned with Operating Unit objectives.
  • Set pricing goals, monitor compliance, take corrective actions, and ensure proper system maintenance.
  • Develop and implement innovative business models and value-based healthcare programs in partnership with regional and global teams.
  • Review key tenders and deals to ensure revenue and profit targets are met, providing recommendations to country business units and senior management.
  • Drive pricing as a strategic and profit lever across regions, building consensus and promoting a pricing-focused mindset within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulations while collaborating with the EurAsia OLM Pricing strategy team to share best practices and support cross-regional initiatives.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pricing, including strategy, market optimization, product profitability, tenders, and reimbursements.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing pricing strategies to optimize market access and profitability, preferably in international pricing roles or major consultancy firms.
  • Knowledge of European tender and reimbursement systems.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and modeling skills (Excel), with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent leadership, influence, communication, negotiation, and financial acumen; process-oriented mindset.
  • Experience managing cross-functional, cross-country, and cross-business initiatives in a matrix and intercultural environment; fluent in English.
  • Familiarity with Vendavo and prior experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage.
