Qonto, a fast-growing fintech, seeks a Principal Backend Engineer in the Foundations domain to shape core backend systems powering hundreds of thousands of customers. You will lead cross-team initiatives, mentor engineers, and translate business goals into scalable technical roadmaps, with a focus on AI-enabled infra and AI-native integrations.

You will spearhead end-to-end programs spanning multiple functions, architect high-volume systems, and communicate clearly with engineers and executives

As Principal Backend Engineer in the Foundations domain, you will shape and scale core backend systems powering hundreds of thousands of customers. You’ll lead cross-team initiatives with real business impact, steer technical roadmaps, and uplift the engineering organization through mentoring and enablement. Your work will connect business goals to technical decisions, driving AI-enabled and scalable infra. This is a high-visibility role at a fast-growing fintech shaping Europe’s finance workspace.
