Position: Power Electronics Engineer

Location: Montecchio Maggiore (VI), Italy, at the Xylem Electronics Center of Excellence

The Electronics Centre of Excellence aims to streamline water management by standardizing and enhancing Xylem's power electronics capabilities. We design a range of customized motor drives (variable frequency) to meet efficiency, usability, and reliability standards across various water applications.

Our electronic engineers are responsible for power electronics and motor control for variable frequency drives used within Xylem's portfolio. These products are based on a reusable platform that can be tailored for specific applications and environments.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, testing, and verification of electronic products and prototypes for single-phase and three-phase power supplies up to 1000 V.
  • Schematic design and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
  • Design and simulation of analog signal chains with SPICE.
  • Design, testing, and prototyping of magnetic components.
  • EMC/EMI testing and debugging.
  • Ensure compliance with product standards.
  • Collaborate with firmware engineers, physicists, and mechanical engineers.
  • Generate design, testing, and verification documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electronic Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics.
  • At least 2 years of experience in power electronics design.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Italian.
  • Good understanding of digital and analog circuit design.
  • Proficiency in schematic and layout design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, PADS.
  • Knowledge of gate drive design, circuit protection, analog filters, and analog signal processing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of motor control theory (synchronous and asynchronous).
  • Practical experience with EMC/EMI testing and debugging.
  • Design, specifications, and testing of magnetic components.
  • Experience with PFC boost converters, fly-back converters, and half/full-bridge converters.
  • Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of energy engineering fundamentals and theory.
