Xylem, a Fortune 500 global water solutions company committed to sustainable impact, is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer for our Montecchio Maggiore (VI) plant, which employs over 800 staff. The engineer will join the Xylem Electronics Center of Excellence, supporting the development of power electronics for custom motor drives (variable frequency) aimed at enhancing efficiency, usability, and reliability across water applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, testing, and verification of electronic products and prototypes for single-phase and three-phase power supplies up to 1000 V. Includes schematic design/layout using Altium Designer, analog signal chain simulation with SPICE, magnetic component testing, EMC/EMI testing and debugging, ensuring product compliance, and collaborating with firmware, physics, and mechanical engineers. Documentation generation is also required.
• Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electronic Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in power electronics design.

Proficiency in English and Italian, good circuit design skills (digital and analog), experience with design tools like Altium Designer, OrCAD, PADS, and knowledge of gate drive circuits, protection, filters, and analog signal processing are essential.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of motor control theory (synchronous and asynchronous).
• Practical experience with EMC/EMI testing and debugging.
• Magnetic component design, specifications, and testing.
• Experience with PFC boost, fly-back, and half/full-bridge converters.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of energy engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols.

Contract: Permanent, full-time. Freelance applications are not considered for this role. Benefits include company canteen and bonuses. Location: Montecchio Maggiore (VI), with occasional travel to Cambridge, UK. Willingness to travel occasionally is required. Please submit your CV in English.
