THE ROLE
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The Nanochemistry Research Unit coordinated by Prof. Liberato Manna at IIT in Genoa is seeking highly motivated and talented candidates in the field of photoelectrocatalysis. The successful candidate will contribute to the rational design, synthesis, and testing of advanced photo- and electrocatalysts, with particular focus on nanocrystalline materials and their integration into functional electrodes. The position involves the development of new photoelectrocatalytic setups (batch and/or flow), implementation of analytical methodologies for the detection and quantification of reaction products, and the use of in-situ spectroscopic tools to gain mechanistic insights into catalytic pathways and material evolution. The postdoc will closely interact with synthetic chemists and computational scientists within the team to accelerate the discovery of efficient catalytic systems, and will provide support and guidance to other postdocs, PhD students, and undergraduates. The highly interdisciplinary research environment at IIT provides access to cutting-edge laboratories for materials synthesis and characterization, as well as advanced facilities for electrochemical and spectroscopic investigations.
