Job summary

Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia seeks a talented postdoctoral researcher to join a collaborative project between the Atomistic Simulations and Computational Statistics and Machine Learning units at IIT. The role focuses on designing physics-informed learning algorithms for atomistic simulations.

The successful candidate will contribute to advancing machine learning for physics and chemistry, publish refereed papers, and may mentor PhD students and interns.

Qualifications

• A PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines.
• Good record of publications in ML and/or Computational Chemistry.
• Strong problem-solving attitude.
• The ability to properly report, organize and publish your research results.
• Good command of spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Investigate open research problems in ML and computational physics and chemistry.
• Write research papers and when appropriate open-source software for reproducibility and dissemination.
• Possibly be involved in coaching PhD students and interns.
