IIT's Center for Convergent Technologies in Genoa seeks a postdoctoral researcher to advance organic–inorganic layered nanomaterials. You will design and synthesize materials, perform advanced structural and optical characterizations, and drive independent projects within an ERC-funded program.

You will collaborate across disciplines, supervise junior researchers, and develop automated, data-driven workflows to accelerate discovery. Excellent English and a strong publication record are essential.

Competenze

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or closely related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience in the synthesis of organic and inorganic functional materials.
• Strong experience with layered materials, hybrid semiconductors or related low-dimensional systems.
• Hands-on experience in the analysis and interpretation of single-crystal and/or powder X-ray diffraction data.
• Experience with structural, optical and optoelectronic characterization techniques.
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed international journals.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Mansioni

• Design, synthesize and optimize organic-inorganic layered materials using wet-chemistry approaches.
• Develop new synthetic protocols for low-dimensional and layered materials.
• Perform structural, optical and optoelectronic characterization of functional materials.
• Design and execute independent research projects while collaborating within the ERC-funded programme.
• Supervise junior researchers, including PhD students and research fellows.
