Job Description :
The project "Future Artificial Intelligence Research (FAIR)" aims to harness artificial neural networks and evolutionary reinforcement learning to advance the growth of 2D homo / heterostructures with high precision. The goal is to optimize the growth process to target specific crystal phases, opening new avenues in materials science. This involves integrating AI techniques with materials synthesis to improve control and predictability in 2D material engineering, enabling applications in electronics, photonics, and beyond.
We are part of IIT, committed to developing human-centered Science and Technology to address societal challenges and transfer innovations to industry and society. Our headquarters in Genoa collaborates with 11 centers across Italy and international stations in the US, fostering an interdisciplinary environment.
You will join a multicultural, multidisciplinary team of physicists, chemists, surface scientists, electrical and biomedical engineers, working closely with industrial partners. Our mission in 2D Materials Engineering is to synthesize, investigate, and tailor 2D materials and heterostructures for next-generation devices in photonics, electronics, biomedical, and quantum fields, from design to industrial application.
