Alpiq, a leading energy services provider, is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join their Middle Office Trading department. This role focuses on generating reports, supporting trading units, and collaborating across divisions to enhance decision-making based on market analyses. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in the energy industry and a relevant degree, alongside strong analytical skills and project management capabilities.

Competenze

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the energy industry.
  • Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus.
  • EU citizen or valid EU work permit.

Position: Portfolio Analyst

To strengthen its Middle Office Trading department, Alpiq seeks a Portfolio Analyst with proven experience in energy markets. Reporting directly to the Head of the department, this role requires initiative and analytical skills. The Middle Office Trading department provides accurate PnL and exposure reporting to the Trading department.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Generate and validate reports such as exposures and PnL calculations from trading activities.
  2. Support front trading units in capturing specific Trade Types.
  3. Identify and proactively resolve sources of error.
  4. Monitor portfolio structures and related processes.
  5. Analyze key indicators, test new trading system products, and support cross-divisional processes.
  6. Execute ETRM or BI System tests during new releases and assist with deal migrations or system adjustments.
  7. Participate in internal and external projects and manage related tasks.
  8. Serve as a reliable business partner, collaborating with departments such as Front Office, Controlling, Risk Management, and Back Office.
Candidate Profile
  • Degree in economics, sciences, or engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the energy industry.
  • Good knowledge of European power and gas markets.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Pragmatic, analytical, and detail-oriented.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages such as German, French, Italian, or Spanish are a plus.
  • EU citizen or valid EU work permit.
