A leading consultancy in international projects is seeking a Political Expert for an EU funded project to strengthen democratisation and good governance in the electoral process. Candidates should have a Master's degree or 5+ years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in electoral assistance. The position is based in Italy, with a contract implementation period of 48 months starting January 2026.

Overview

NTU International A / S is leading a consortium for the proposal preparation of the EU funded project called: EOM 2026 and is currently seeking qualified professionals to join the project team.

Objective

The overall objective of this assignment is to:

• strengthen democratisation, good governance and conflict prevention;
• contribute to reducing inter alia the possibility of fraud, manipulation, intimidation which could undermine the electoral processes;
• improve the legal framework and conduct of future elections, as well as public confidence in the institutions;
• inform the European institutions on the conduct of elections in selected third countries.

Duration

The intended start date is 1 January 2026 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 48 months from this date.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications and Skills :

• Master\'s in law / political science / international relations or 5+ years experience in lieu.

General experience

• Cat. I: 10+ years / Cat. II: 5+ years in:

• Elections / electoral assistance;
• Human rights, democratisation;
• Rule of law / civil society.

Specific experience

• Election observation / assessment.
• Electoral systems / administration / standards.
• Familiarity with national election frameworks.
• Understanding of election management bodies.
