Your role

We are looking for a Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations excellence in our factory located in Castelgomberto, which is a key part of the Italian market growth strategy. The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily plant operations and ensuring optimal factory performance, complying with policies and procedures. You will lead a cross-functional team overseeing all manufacturing functions to ensure stewardship, safety, quality, productivity, and service.

The ideal candidate will be exceptionally detail-oriented and able to lead the manufacturing team, serving as a liaison between plant workers and upper management. This person must be dedicated to achieving compelling business needs embedded in our Affinity strategy and fostering a culture of full organizational involvement and a run-to-target mindset.

What you will do

  • Be a leadership role model deploying vision, giving direction, fostering engagement, being shopfloor execution oriented, and motivating the organization.
  • Promote manufacturing excellence behaviors, focusing on safety and quality fundamentals.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and run day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead cultural change towards manufacturing excellence, boosting safety, quality, organizational capabilities, and systems.
  • Increase production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets for optimal results.
  • Implement strategies aligned with strategic initiatives, providing clear direction and focus.
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
  • Build trusting relationships with the team, manage, and develop plant staff to secure staffing and succession planning.
  • Manage costs and lead loss analysis to secure year-on-year savings.
  • Foster accountability and optimize processes through organizational performance systems.
  • Address employee issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements.
  • Stay updated with the latest production management practices.

Who we are looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position in the food industry.
  • Higher education or Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing-related engineering.
  • Experience leading people and cultural changes in diverse factories.
  • Experience managing workers' councils.
  • Experience developing careers.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Black Belt preferred).
  • Strong understanding of quality and H&S standards.
  • Organizational and strategic planning skills.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise.
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
  • English is a must; French and Spanish are desirable.
  • Leadership and People Management skills.
  • Self-management, self-confidence, and proactivity.
  • Excellent communication, open-mindedness, and adaptability.
