ROLE OVERVIEW :

We are searching for a Plant Manager to oversee the production, maintenance, quality and safety activities for Greif's Melzo facility, east of Milan.

Reporting to the General Manager for Italy, this is a great opportunity to lead a team of manufacturing and operational professionals in delivering our objectives for the site, country, and region.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously improve the plant's performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.
• Effectively implement new performance management systems, production plans, and performance criteria; confirm production progress; respond to delays; take corrective actions; record KPI performance.
• Create and implement improvement plans for the overall operation.
• Ensure the team understands roles and responsibilities related to the team and Greif.
• Encourage joint problem solving and individual development.
• Support Greif's mission, follow Greif’s values, and work to better Greif’s business as a whole.
• Manage and maintain safety observances, ensure guards and safety features are working, and promote good daily safety practices and habits.
• Communicate goals and objectives, apply company policies, staff, train, coach, recommend salary increases, administer discipline, ensure positive colleague relations, and review colleague performance.
• Forecast future production and facility needs and participate in establishing strategic business and project goals.
• Contribute to annual budget preparation and control expenditures in accordance with the budget.
• Maintain close contact with other departments.

Education and Experience

• Typically possess a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and demonstrate plant leadership experience.
