Your impact

Within our Piping Department in the Italy office, we are looking for a Piping Material Engineer. Main responsibilities include:

1. Develop / check Piping Material Specs, Valve Data Sheets, Piping SP list, Piping SP items (for chemical and pharmaceutical projects, both for hygienic and non-hygienic services);
2. Create Enquiry Requisitions, conduct Technical Bid Evaluations, and assemble Technical Requirements for Purchase Order Valve Packages;
3. Prepare work instructions, procedures, and guidelines;
4. Check and perform code calculations according to EN 13480-3 and ASME B31.3;
5. Select materials and piping components and develop related data sheets according to project requirements;
6. Provide assistance to BIM engineers with input sheets for the 3D Model catalogue creation and update;
7. Coordinate the production of all deliverables in accordance with the project schedule;
8. Support piping designers on developing Material Take Off extracted from 3D models;
9. Create Piping Scope of Work descriptions for tenders;
10. Prepare bid packages and carry out technical bid tabulations and bid analysis of offers received from contractors/vendors;
11. Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure proper integration with other disciplines and the successful completion of projects;
12. Perform follow-up activities, comment, and approve documentation received from contractors;
13. Represent the project team/group in internal and external meetings as needed.

Here's what you'll need

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience;
• Knowledge of main international piping codes relevant to the pharmaceutical market;
• Organizational skills to manage multiple activities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while respecting project requirements;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and collaborate with team members and clients, internal and external;
• Ability to think out of the box to add value and generate optimization ideas;
• Good presentation skills and troubleshooting approach guided by logical reasoning;
• Willingness to travel for short periods;
• Fluency in spoken and written English and very good knowledge of Italian (at least B2).

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Experience in piping systems for industrial plants, preferably in chemical, biotech, and pharmaceutical industries;
• Knowledge of ISO Quality Management procedures;
• Proactive approach to updating and improving your technical knowledge of international norms, design standards, and European Directives (PED, ATEX, Machinery);
