Job summary

Bonatti is seeking a Pipeline Geotechnical Engineer for a major pipeline project in Italy. You will ensure pipeline integrity during construction, monitor geotechnical risks and propose mitigation solutions.

Responsibilities include route selection based on geotechnical factors, field surveys, interpretation of maps and imagery, development of geotechnical models, and reporting. English proficiency required; work at a central Italy construction site.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Active registration with the Professional Register of Geologists.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, pipeline sector preferred.
• Experience with geotechnical software for slope stability and pipe–soil interaction.
• Ability to interpret geological data and satellite imagery.
• Good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Select and optimize pipeline routes considering geotechnical factors.
• Conduct field surveys to assess geotechnical issues and geohazards.
• Evaluate impact of geohazards on pipeline behavior and mitigation.
• Interpret geological maps, aerial photos, and LiDAR imagery for risk assessment.
• Monitor conditions during construction for long-term stability.
• Develop geotechnical models and calculations.
• Draft geological and geotechnical reports.
