Job description:

Overview

Failure Analysis is a key process to improve product and process quality. By analyzing customer returns or qualification rejects, the goal is to identify and characterize defects causing electrical malfunctions and provide feedback to manufacturing to enhance device fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

The Failure Analysis Lab at PQR Agrate is seeking a Failure Analysis Technician to support physical analysis of customer returns and qualification rejects. The role involves applying advanced non-destructive techniques (infrared, optical, x-rays, scanning acoustic microscopy, x-ray tomography) and critical sample preparation methods (chemical and laser decapsulation, backside decapping and thinning, mechanical cross-sectioning) using state-of-the-art equipment.

The candidate will work in a team covering weekend shifts (Fri-Sun, 10 hours/day):

• Fri: 12:00 - 22:00
• Sat: 09:00 - 19:00
• Sun: 09:00 - 19:00

Candidate Profile

Requirements

• School education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or secondary school diploma (e.g., Perito Elettronico, Perito Chimico, Perito Fisico)
• Experience: Less than 5 years in Process Engineering (preferred) or Shift Engineering; knowledge of equipment management/control and device fabrication processes is advantageous.
