FELLOWSHIP IN STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY
IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a PhD Student to join the Biomolecular NMR Laboratory. The group uses biomolecular NMR spectroscopy coupled to biochemical, biophysical, and computational methods to study the structure/function activity of proteins (or protein domains) involved in human diseases (e.g. cancer, genetic diseases).

Main responsibilities:

1. Protein expression and purification for structural studies
2. Structural and biophysical studies of protein complexes; the candidate will work on the functional/structural characterization of HMGB1-CXCL12 interaction with the GPCR receptor CXCR4 (project funded by AIRC)

The candidate we are looking for has the following skills:

1. Motivated researcher with B.S.-MA in biological sciences, biotechnology, chemistry, or physics
2. Junior fellows interested in a Ph.D.
3. Experience in molecular biology and/or biochemistry, protein expression and purification is essential
4. Experience in biophysical and structural biology methods (e.g. ITC, NMR, BLI, SPR, X-ray, cryo-EM) and/or cell biology is considered a plus
5. Good organizational skills, ability to focus on multiple priorities are required
