Personal Support Worker

Job Description

Located at GUILDWOOD VILLA

The PSW/HCA/CCA provides direct personal support and care to patients to fulfill their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines. Responsibilities include assisting with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming.

For Union Jobs, please refer to the collective agreement and include the following additional information:

• Union Classification (Title): PSW / HCA as applicable
• Salary: As per Collective Agreement
• Access to reliable vehicle in community home care is required

For both Non-Union and Union jobs, the following description applies:

Qualifications

• Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification that meets the appropriate standards for the position
• Experience in Long Term Care or community home care setting with exposure to dementia and palliative care is preferred
• Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation
• Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents/patients, and families
• Ability to provide care in accordance with legislation, job routines, nursing care plans, and to read, write, and understand instructions in English
• Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset
