Mandarin Oriental Cristallo, Cortina, is seeking a People & Culture Coordinator to support pre-opening and ongoing HR operations for our luxury resort. Based at Cortina d'Ampezzo, you will manage recruitment, onboarding, employee records and payroll inputs, helping establish Mandarin Oriental's culture from day one.

Competenze

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Hospitality Management or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience in Human Resources, People & Culture, recruitment or HR administration, ideally in hospitality or luxury service.
  • Fluent English and Italian, both written and spoken.

Mandarin Oriental Cristallo, Cortina is an upcoming luxury alpine resort set above the iconic mountain town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Dolomites. Scheduled to open in Winter 2026, the resort will mark the debut of Mandarin Oriental in one of Italy's most renowned mountain destinations, combining the legendary heritage of the Cristallo with Mandarin Oriental's exceptional service, refined design, and award-winning hospitality.

The resort will feature elegantly appointed rooms and suites, exceptional dining experiences, a world-class Spa & Wellness Centre, and curated year-round experiences designed for discerning international travellers seeking the finest alpine luxury.

About The Role

Based at Mandarin Oriental Cristallo, Cortina, the People & Culture Coordinator plays an important role in the successful pre-opening and ongoing operation of the resort's People & Culture function. The role provides comprehensive administrative and operational support across the colleague lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, payroll inputs, colleague engagement and People & Culture initiatives.

During the pre-opening phase, the People & Culture Coordinator will play a particularly active role in supporting the recruitment and onboarding of the resort's opening team, ensuring accurate and timely administration while contributing to the creation of a positive colleague experience and the establishment of Mandarin Oriental's culture from day one.

As a People & Culture Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Pre-Opening Responsibilities
  • Support the People & Culture team in the coordination and administration of all pre-opening activities.
  • Provide administrative support throughout the recruitment process, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, documentation and recruitment tracking.
  • Support the preparation of employment documentation and ensure all required information is collected accurately and within established timelines.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new colleagues, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from offer acceptance through to their first day.
  • Support the organisation of induction programmes, orientation activities and pre-opening training initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment, onboarding and colleague records throughout the pre-opening phase.
  • Coordinate with department heads to monitor recruitment progress, joining dates and outstanding documentation.
  • Support the organisation of recruitment events, career fairs, assessment activities and other talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Assist with colleague accommodation, uniforms and other practical onboarding requirements in coordination with the relevant departments.
  • Contribute to pre-opening colleague engagement and communication initiatives.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Provide daily administrative and operational support across all People & Culture activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date colleague files, HR systems, databases and documentation throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Prepare employment-related documentation, letters, certificates and other People & Culture correspondence.
  • Support new joiner, transfer, promotion and termination administration, ensuring documentation is processed accurately and timely.
  • Collect and verify attendance, absence, holiday, overtime and other information required for payroll processing.
  • Support payroll administration by ensuring accurate and timely submission of relevant data and documentation.
  • Assist colleagues with routine People & Culture enquiries, providing professional and timely support.
  • Support recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening coordination, interview scheduling and candidate communication.
  • Coordinate onboarding and induction activities for new colleagues.
  • Support the administration of training and development initiatives in coordination with the Learning & Development function.
  • Assist with colleague engagement activities, recognition programmes, internal events and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Support the preparation of People & Culture reports, presentations, statistics and workforce information.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure colleague personal information is handled in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
  • Support compliance with company policies, employment procedures and applicable labour regulations.
  • Coordinate effectively with Payroll, Finance and operational departments to ensure accurate colleague administration.
  • Support People & Culture projects and initiatives aimed at continuously improving the colleague experience.
  • Contribute to maintaining a welcoming, accessible and professional People & Culture office.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties consistent with the responsibilities and operational requirements of the role.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Hospitality Management or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources, People & Culture, recruitment or HR administration, preferably within the hospitality or luxury service industry.
  • Previous experience within a luxury five-star hotel or resort is considered an advantage.
  • Previous pre-opening or high-volume recruitment experience is considered a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of HR administration and the employee lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Italian employment administration and labour regulations is considered an advantage.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine interest in supporting colleagues.
  • Professional, approachable and service-oriented attitude.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HR information systems and recruitment platforms is considered an advantage.
  • Fluent English and Italian, both written and spoken.
Compensation

€28,000 – €30,000 Gross Annual Salary (RAL)
