Our Italian office of Norton Rose Fulbright is looking for People and Culture professional to support our team of 45 (incl. 7 Partners). We are an international Law firm, looking for an experienced HR Business Partner for all People and Culture based activities in our Milan office.

In this role, you are the key People and Culture person for the Milan office, supported by and collaborating with our People and Culture teams across the EMEA region. You will be working closely with the Head of Office and reporting into the COO for Germany, Italy and Poland as well as the Director of People and Culture Business Partnering (EMEA) based in London. Responsibilities include, however are not limited to,

  • Managing the Graduate Recruitment programme, involving the full recruitment cycle
  • Managing the recruiting, onboarding and integration of lateral hires end to end
  • Working with external recruitment agencies
  • Managing employee lifecycle changes, including absences, parental leave and leavers
  • Supporting our leaders in conducting effective career performance discussions with their teams
  • Managing the annual performance, bonus and salary review processes for Milan
  • Supporting on all local employee relations activity with support from our Head of ER (EMEA)
  • Proactively suggesting and leading on local and EMEA projects that align with People & Culture priorities
  • Working with our international centres of excellence such as reward, talent, recruitment and Learning & Development
  • Executing payroll in conjunction with finance and our external provider, including supporting and managing local benefits (e.g., lunch tickets)
  • Facilitating secondments and permanent transfers into and out of the Milan office
  • Managing the HR Budget

Skills and experience :

For this role, you will need to have :

  • Demonstrable experience working as a HR professional in professional services and / or partnership environments, preferably in law firms
  • Worked in an international environment
  • Solid experience, working independently and across a range of HR activities
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Ability to inspire confidence and respect at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills in both Italian and English

  • Commercially astute
  • Used to working independently and proactively
  • Confident and able to challenge appropriately where required
