Job Description:

Who we are and what we do.

Deel and our family of growing companies are made up of global teams dedicated to helping businesses hire anyone, anywhere, easily.

The team comprises over three thousand self-driven individuals spanning over 100 countries, and our unified yet diverse culture keeps us continually learning and innovating the platform and products for customers.

Companies should be able to hire the best talent anywhere in the world, so we are building the best platform to make that a reality. Our market-leading technology, expertise, and global team are crucial to the platform’s success. We deliver the best products and features in our space, enabling millions of jobs worldwide and connecting the global workforce with the best companies and opportunities.

Why should you be part of our success story?

A 30-mile hiring radius should no longer dictate how companies hire because exceptional talent lives everywhere. Deel sees a world without hiring borders and endless talent that pairs perfect candidates with great companies.

We offer global teams all the tools they need to hire, onboard, manage, pay, and scale at full speed. We aim to foster a diverse global economy by building a generational platform that seamlessly connects companies with talent worldwide.

After our successful Series D in 2021, we raised another $50M in 2023, doubling our valuation to $12B. There’s never been a more exciting time to join Deel — the international payroll and compliance market leader.

We are looking for a Global Payroll Implementation Manager to lead the successful implementation of clients on our global payroll system. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and international regulations, and be able to guide Deel’s most important clients through the critical payroll onboarding process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our payroll processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Set-up: Work with our onboarding team and clients to organize and run kick-off meetings, and deliver our implementation. Create, maintain, and manage project plans to ensure the successful roll-out of Global Payroll across multiple countries.
  • Client and Project Management: Support project review calls (internal and external), coordinate and deliver on project streams. Manage changes to scope and schedule. Work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Payroll Process Requirements: Define and set up client payroll processes, establishing all payroll and data requirements. Ensure timely management of payroll calendars.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, status reports, and process documentation.
  • System set-up and parallel payroll process: Define, agree, and configure interfaces, reports, and system configurations for successful parallel and live payroll for months 1 and 2.
  • Go-live transition, Sign-off, and documentation: Work with clients to sign off on projects, document client-specific needs, and ensure validation. Generate reports for payroll data analysis, auditing, and reconciliation.
  • Reports: Map GL reports if required.
  • Communication: Act as the primary contact for payroll project matters. Set priorities, manage projects, report to senior leadership, and escalate issues. Schedule and attend weekly client calls to report on project status, risks, and dependencies.
  • Project Management: Lead end-to-end implementation, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Client Management: Gather requirements from clients and guide them through technical onboarding.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders for global and local payroll needs.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to local and international tax and labor laws, staying updated on changes.
  • Data Migration: Oversee payroll data migration, ensuring accuracy and security.
  • Testing: Develop and execute testing plans to identify and resolve issues.
  • Change Management: Implement strategies for smooth transition for employees and HR teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience (2 years) in global payroll implementation, and 4 years in payroll operations.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance across multiple countries.
  • Experience with various payroll systems and software.
  • Interest and ability in client-facing project management.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Total Rewards

Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay, with scalable benefits, rewards, and perks that reflect our commitment to inclusivity and access for all.

Some things you’ll enjoy:
  • Provided computer equipment tailored to your role.
  • Stock grant opportunities based on role, employment status, and location.
  • Additional perks and benefits depending on employment status and country.
  • Remote work flexibility, including WeWork access where available.
