Outside Sales Engineer

As an Outside Sales Engineer, you will be the face of Emerson in front of our key customers within the Emilia Romagna area in Italy. Your role involves proposing a wide range of field instrument products and solutions across various industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Power, Metal & Mining, and Pulp & Paper.

Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, you will identify and qualify new business opportunities with existing or new customers within your assigned area. Your goal is to promote customer satisfaction and loyalty by understanding their business needs. Your focus will be on competitive displacement opportunities, OEM business, and end users in the territory.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  1. Be responsible for all sales activities to meet or exceed bookings and strategic objectives within your territory.
  2. Identify market requirements, develop strategies, and implement tactics for growth in orders and profitability.
  3. Actively promote and sell field instrumentation products, solutions, and services.
  4. Negotiate relevant business contracts with customers within your delegation of authority, including discounts, pricing, and volume terms.
  5. Coordinate sales and proposal strategies with local and international support organizations.
  6. Participate in annual budget setting and comment on bookings and gross profit prospects.
  7. Maintain a project opportunity list using CRM or other tools.
  8. Ensure the execution of contractual terms in all transactions.
  9. Report on quotations and project potential through CRM and reporting mechanisms.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Technical education or bachelor’s engineering degree.
  • Proven successful experience in technical sales roles within the process industry.
  • Proficiency in Italian and English (verbal, reading, and writing).
  • Willingness to travel up to a specified percentage of the time.
  • Residence in the Emilia Romagna region is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and social skills, comfortable interacting across organizational levels.
  • Leadership experience and market presence.
  • Proven ability to identify business opportunities and achieve results.
  • Ability to work within a complex matrix organization and collaborate across units.
