The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at MUSC Community Physicians performs multi-skilled tasks to support patient-centered care, including interviewing patients, recording vital signs, and preparing examination rooms under physician direction. Strong computer skills and accurate documentation are essential.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited medical assisting program; BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of accredited medical assisting program.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant through AMT/AAMA/NHA/NAHP.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs.
• Input and update patients' medical records.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
• Follow detailed instructions for procedures.
