Outage Project Engineer (OPE)

The Outage Project Engineer (OPE) provides technical support to internal customers (PM/CPM/Service Manager) in preparation for critical shutdowns, following internal guidelines and embracing customer requests proactively. The OPE acts as the engineering entry point for internal customers and regional operations, ensuring smooth outage executions, promoting additional work, productivity, and cost avoidance.

During outage executions, the OPE supports shutdowns remotely or by participating in site activities, depending on customer needs and outage criticality. In both preparation and execution phases, the OPE collaborates with teams within Service Engineering and Service to improve data collection, share best practices, expedite issue resolution, and promote continuous improvement of maintenance activities. The OPE also maintains a strong focus on operational excellence, quality, and HSE culture.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a solid network with PM/CPM/Service Manager, regional operations, and preparation teams, promoting a professional reputation for the Outage Engineering team.
• Focus on site-specific issues during outage preparation and execution, analyzing internal databases to identify past issues and propose plant enhancements.
• Share engineering dispositions with the preparation team, actively participating in outage planning. Collect all dispositions in the Outage Engineering Report, to be stored in BH databases after each outage.
• Share best practices and transfer LL to team members and other teams. Collaborate with the team leader to improve internal tools.
• Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at improving internal productivity or critical to IET GTS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent scientific field, or demonstrated experience.
• Advanced knowledge of at least one product in the IET portfolio and basic knowledge of other IET products (Gas/Steam turbines, Compressors), including Flange to Flange and Auxiliaries.
• Knowledge of outage execution, maintenance events, commissioning, and startup of units.
• Ability to understand P&ID, drawings, parts lists, and Gantt charts.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of interacting at all levels within and outside the company. Open-minded and flexible, with collaborative spirit.
