Palmetto Engineering & Consulting (PEC) is seeking an OSP Field Technician to support Outside Plant Telecommunications work. You will inspect construction, stake routes, and capture mapping data on a tablet, ensuring field records reflect project specs.

The role emphasizes hands-on field work, attention to detail, and the ability to travel weekly to job sites. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required, with ESOP participation and PTO available for dedicated contributors.

Competenze

• Field data collection experience in telecommunications or utility construction.
• Working knowledge of OSP and/or utility construction practices — staking & as‑built docs.
• Familiar with ESRI GIS tools and capturing/editing field data on a tablet.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to work independently and meet customer specs.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass screening.
• Regular travel to job sites (weekly) is required.

Mansioni

• Inspect Outside Plant contractors’ work to ensure contract specs are met and note exceptions.
• Report discrepancies between specs and completed work to the supervisor.
• Survey, verify, and locate existing telecom utilities in the field using cable location equipment.
• Stake proposed telecom facility paths and map roads/structures within the project area.
• "Redline" prints and prepare as‑built records, updating staking sheets and schematics.
• Complete daily Field Observation Reports and weekly progress reports covering materials and on‑site inventory.
• Submit fiber‑loss reports, cable schematics, and final as‑built records at project completion.
• Capture and update field data in GIS software (ArcGIS) and keep geospatial data accurate.
