The Role

The Operations Manager supports operations at one or more locations. This managerial role supervises at least two full-time employees or equivalents and ensures all operational elements—including team performance, customer service, financials, maintenance, and safety—meet Metropolis standards. The position is based at a high-end luxury hospitality location.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage a team of hourly employees:
  • Schedule shifts and verify attendance
  • Organize and manage team tasks to meet organizational and Metropolis standards
  • Interview, hire, and develop staff
  • Ensure completion of training
  • Develop and oversee forecasting, planning, and budgeting for the location(s)
  • Control expenses within approved budgets
  • Maintain maintenance documentation and meet maintenance goals
  • Promote safety through audits and coaching
  • Collaborate with clients to define performance metrics and execution strategies
  • Ensure operational documentation is complete and recorded
  • Meet Metropolis customer service standards, including greeting customers, handling inquiries, and coaching staff
  • Implement company initiatives and processes
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Perform additional operational duties as needed
  • Qualifications

    • Experience in luxury hospitality leadership is strongly preferred
    • High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
    • Previous business experience
    • Knowledge of scheduling and payroll is a plus
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to identify safety concerns and respond appropriately
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Maintain confidentiality of work-related information
    • Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of inclusion
    • Willingness to work extended hours as needed
