Operations Technician at Food Production Plant based in southern Europe

1.Assisting in the General / Preventive Maintenance works which involve use and repairs of machinery, repairs on infrastructure and services equipment and fine tuning on production lines while ensuring that all equipment is well looked after and well prepared for its purpose.

2.Ensuring that the machinery / equipment being serviced is adequately set and that no parts are left unmaintained, which could give future problems when such machinery / equipment is in use.

3.Ensuring that prior to releasing equipment / machinery for use / production he is to carry out the necessary testing and checking to guarantee the proper operation.

4.Assisting in the fabrication of machine parts, especially when these are worn out or where required and thus ensure proper replacement and functionality.

5.Performing overhaul tasks of electrical / electronic, mechanical and pneumatic nature.

6.Keeping good communication with his superior and colleagues, while keeping them well informed on progress on projects assigned to him and reporting immediately any mishaps and actions that are required.

7.Ensuring that the company’s policies and procedures including those of health and safety are always followed.

8.Ensuring that health and safety policies and procedures are being adhered by both himself and employees under his responsibility.

Job Requirements :

• In possession of a Diploma in either Mechanical or Electrical / Electronic Engineering
• Wireman’s Electrical License A and / or B
• have between two (2)and five (5) years’ work experience in a similar role;
• have a good command (written and communication) in English or Italian
• have good communication and leadership skills
• be well organized, target oriented and can handle target pressures
• be flexible in working hours

Contract is for a 3 year period after which it will be renewed on a yearly basis following a performance evaluation. Maintenance Technician working week is of 40-hrs Approximation of hours worked per week is of + / - 45hrs. Working schedule - Monday to Friday 07 : 00 to 15 : 30 hrs with 30 minutes break. There's the possibility to work 1hr overtime on daily basis and another 5 hours on a Saturday.

Overtime Hours - Overtime is paid at the rate of 1 : 1.5, over the 40-hr week. Yearly budgeted overtime hours amount to 300 hours

The first month accommodation is provided by the company at free of charge, during this period the employee is to look for an alternative accommodation while the company will assist him / her to find an accommodation.

Each employee is entitled to 24 days vacation leave on a yearly basis.

Each employee covered by the National Insurance, allowing free public health services apart from the company’s doctor medical visits.
