Position Overview

We are seeking an Operational Buyer, reporting directly to the Head of Procurement South Europe and functionally to the Local Finance Manager, to join our Finance & Operations team based in Milan.

Primary Duties

• The Operational Buyer requests offers from suppliers (within own threshold) and has the mandate to award.
• Responsible for implementing and executing the complete order process for indirect spend. (No PO / No Pay).
• Supports the Category Manager for Direct and Indirect Spend.
• Sets up simple solutions for consumables with a focus on process costs.
• Promotes continuous improvement by challenging processes and procedures to identify and implement valid improvements.
• Works with the business to minimize maverick buying and ensure a compliant ordering process.
• Establishes framework contracts to simplify and secure supplies.

Requirements

• Commercial degree or technical degree with additional commercial training.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position within direct and indirect procurement.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SAP-MM is mandatory.
• Experience in interacting with suppliers, including contract regulations.
• Experience in executing RfQ and quotation evaluations, preferably in SAP and eProcurement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
