A leading company in the aerospace sector is seeking an On-Board Software Embedded Engineer to join their team in Italy. This role involves defining software architecture and design for On-Board Computers, along with developing and executing software tests. Candidates should have a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in embedded software development. Join a diverse team dedicated to innovation and excellence.
We are looking for an On-Board Software Embedded Engineer on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Turin, Milan or Rome, Italy.
Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).
The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:
Define the architecture, design and development of the Software (Boot SW, Drivers and Application Software) for the On-Board Computers developed by OHB-I;
Integrate the Software with the On-Board Computers;
Prepare the On-Board Software Verification and Validation Plan;
Prepare the On-Board Software Test Design and Procedures for the different test levels;
Prepare the test scripts and test tools;
Prepare the Satellite Reference Database;
Carry out Software Test Campaign execution and reporting;
Support the AIT/AIV team during Integration, Validation and Testing campaigns;
Participate in the technical reviews with the customers.

Master’s degree in informatics or Electronics Engineering or equivalent;
At least 3 years of professional experience as an embedded software engineer;
Embedded C Software design/development experience;
Familiarity with software-level requirements capture, analysis and verification techniques;
Experience in hardware/software integration phase;
Experience with SW-applicable development standards (ECSS);
Experience with UML design;
Experience with Code Version Control tools (e.g. svn, git);
Experience in the usage of DOORS;
Experience in the usage of IBM Rhapsody (Model-Based design and autocode);
Experience with Software Validation Facilities (SVF);
Experience with one or more of the chipsets and CPU architectures used in space (e.g. SPARC Leon, PowerPC, ARM, RISC-V);
Experience with Software Static Analysis and related tools (e.g. PC-Lint, Understand, LDRA, Polyspace);
Experience with tools used for test preparation and execution (e.g. CCS, ECHO, VectorCAST/Cover, TestRT);
Experience with Software Validation Facilities (SVF);
Knowledge of one or more of the protocols used in space : (e.g. CANBus, MIL-STD-1553, Space-wire);
Knowledge of packet based communication protocols: (e.g. CCSDS, ECSS PUS);
Knowledge of RTOS (e.g RTEMS);
Knowledge of CD/CI practices;
High level of flexibility, willingness to work in teams and ability to keep tight schedules;
High motivation, pro-active working approach and strong sense of responsibility;
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
