Building a sustainable future, together.

At WSP, we design lasting solutions for communities through engineering, environmental and advisory expertise. In Italy, our Nuclear & Decommissioning team is growing, and we are looking for professionals with experience in nuclear decommissioning, radioactive waste management, radiation protection or nuclear licensing.

The opportunity

As our nuclear project pipeline in Italy continues to grow, we are connecting with experienced professionals in decommissioning, radioactive waste management, radiation protection and licensing. Depending on the assignment, the work may be based on site at nuclear facilities or from WSP offices.

How you will make an impact
  • Supporting decommissioning and dismantling projects, including operational plans, methodologies, work sequences, cost and schedule inputs.
  • Contributing to radioactive waste management, including characterization, inventories, treatment, conditioning, storage and transport.
  • Preparing and reviewing nuclear licensing documentation, safety analyses, reports and submissions to competent authorities.
  • Providing site support, including works supervision, waste supervision, radiation protection assistance and technical coordination.
The team around you

You will work with nuclear engineers, licensing specialists, radiation protection experts, waste managers, safety coordinators and civil and structural engineers on complex nuclear and decommissioning projects in Italy and internationally.

Our culture is based on openness, trust and mutual support, with safety at the center of everything we do. Our current focus includes decommissioning, radioactive waste management, radiological characterization and licensing support. In this role, you will contribute to a stable pipeline of nuclear work, learn from recognized experts and access WSP’s global nuclear network.

What you will bring to the role

We welcome engineering, scientific and technical backgrounds, provided you bring relevant experience, strong documentation skills and a collaborative approach.

  • A degree in engineering, physics, chemistry or a related field, or a technical diploma supported by relevant hands-on experience.
  • Experience, even limited, in nuclear operations, decommissioning, radioactive waste management, radiological characterization, radiation protection or licensing.
  • Knowledge of Italian and European nuclear, safety or environmental regulations, or willingness to develop it.
  • Fluent Italian and professional proficiency in English.
  • Availability to work on site at nuclear facilities where required and complete any necessary training or certifications, with WSP support.

We are looking for people with strong technical judgement who wants to contribute expertise, share knowledge and continue growing through complex, meaningful projects.

Life at WSP

At WSP, you will be supported to build your career, take on meaningful challenges and learn from talented professionals across a global network.

WSP is committed to pay transparency. For these future opportunities, the annual gross salary is expected to start from €28,000 and will vary depending on the specific role, level of responsibility and location. The final offer will also reflect the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications and relevant expertise.

In addition to base salary, we offer benefits that support wellbeing, flexibility and professional growth.

  • Flexible and possibly hybrid working arrangements.
  • Meal vouchers and wellbeing benefits.
  • Supplementary healthcare coverage.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.
Our partnership approach

We see recruitment as a two-way conversation. The process may vary by role, but it typically includes:

  • Introductory conversation: A first conversation with Talent Acquisition to discuss your experience, motivations and expectations.
  • Technical and team interview: A discussion with the hiring manager and relevant team members to explore your technical background and future contribution.
  • Final conversation: A final discussion with business or unit leadership, where relevant, to review the scope of the role, team vision and potential impact.
Accessibility and adjustments

We want our recruitment process to be inclusive and accessible. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the process, please let us know so we can support you.

All applications will be treated with confidentiality and considered under equal opportunities principles.
