A leading company in optical networking and photonic products is seeking an NPI Supply Chain Program Manager to lead project execution and sourcing strategy efforts. This role involves significant cross-functional coordination and responsibilities around supplier management, risk mitigation, and project planning. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and analytical skills, along with the necessary educational background and experience.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

Project management and cross functional coordination

  • Lead the NPI Execution team to provide functional deliverables supporting achievement of project goals. This includes project planning, schedule updating and proactively identifying risks and managing issues. Manage work commitments, ensuring required deliverables are completed on time.
  • Provide high quality, concise management reporting of status, risks & issues, ensure completeness and accuracy of information reporting related to the Supply Chain function. Support metrics reporting and complete all deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Communicate extensively throughout the supply chain to ensure continuous alignment of products and strategies during the NPI development cycle.
  • Drive cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain for specific strategic reasons, while accounting for risks, changes in schedule or demand.

Sourcing strategy and supply chain risk mitigation

  • Onboard suppliers to support new technologies and New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Drive dual sourcing activities to mitigate supply risk.
  • Architect supply chains that deliver products that meet or exceed expectations (quality, delivery, value) based on inputs from Business Units, Commodity Managers, Quality and Engineering.
  • NPI sourcing strategy development, management and execution

Cost management and DFx / SDR

  • Product material cost management; Analyze BOM cost to identify cost reduction opportunities through design, content reduction / should cost and commercial means; track and ensure timely implementation of such opportunities.
  • Facilitate early engagement between supplier and Lumentum design team to drive manufacturability, repeatability cost and lead time improvements.

Planning and production transfer

  • Manage ramp readiness with internal teams as well as external partners (e.g., material availability, cost / assembly / test / BOM / capacity readiness and transition plans).
  • Ensure successful production transitions meet program goals.
  • Ensuring all supply chain commitments are met, plans are developed and carried out, and risks are mitigated for assigned products / suppliers.
  • Provide guidance for new Design to select components that meet technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory compliance, while also managing potential issues like obsolescence and supply chain concerns

  • QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / SKILLS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Engineering or other relevant field or equivalent practical experience
  • Up to 5 years of prior experience in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Project Management, or equivalent experience. Management will consider recent college graduate with relevant degree or intern experience.
  • Understanding of program milestones and design / development phase gating processes.
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of business software : Word, Excel, Project and Power Point.
  • Requires exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, analytical ability, decision making, and organizational skills
  • Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, goal oriented, task driven team player.
  • Ability to create a team environment and provide leadership. Demonstrated experience in people management.
  • PREFERENCES

  • Experience with supplier development and / or strategic supplier management.
  • Project Management certification preferred.
  • Technical degree.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Working knowledge of SDR / PFEP / 3P Kaizen Methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with ERP system, Oracle or similar.
  • Experience with PLM, Agile or similar.
