Summary

The mechanical engineer is a fundamental element of all our products. This position will be a core member of the Electro-/Mechanical Engineering Staff, reporting directly to the NPD Manager. The successful candidate will perform mechanical engineering design professionally, including:

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Perform mechanical design and development using 3D CAD software (Creo preferred but not mandatory).
  2. Adhere to standards for mechanical engineering best practices.
  3. Deliver innovative, optimized engineering solutions.
  4. Provide design solutions that meet requirements within budget and timescales.
  5. Maintain respectful interactions with a high degree of personal integrity.
  6. Constructively challenge ideas, solutions, and people.
  7. Carry out structural analysis to ensure designs are fit for purpose.
  8. Design, analyze, optimize, detail, and validate new mechanical and electromechanical systems.
  9. Ensure designs meet all product and project requirements (functionality, performance, cost, quality, timing, budget).
  10. Ensure design robustness and product quality through validation testing.
  11. Visit customer locations with Sales and Product Management to understand customer needs and concerns.
  12. Collaborate within cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across the organization.
  13. Demonstrate Allegion Values consistently.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory).
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
