The Lab Support Technician I (Phlebotomy) at Mercy provides essential laboratory support through specimen collection, processing, reporting, and administrative functions. This role conducts phlebotomy and specimen handling using safe, accurate methods while protecting patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA.

It supports laboratory workflow and reporting, delivering excellent customer service in line with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of probationary period.
• No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
• College coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or other science-related fields is preferred.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

Mansioni

• Obtain, label, process, transport, and refer laboratory specimens following established procedures.
• Assist with specimen processing and report management across laboratory specialty areas.
• Receive, distribute, and maintain laboratory reports as directed.
• Resolve billing issues as needed.
• Maintain specimen integrity and ensure confidentiality requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
