Mercy is seeking a Lab Support Technician (Phlebotomy) I to join our laboratory team in a role that supports physicians, caregivers, and patients through accurate specimen collection, processing, and reporting. You will contribute to timely, quality laboratory services while upholding Mercy's mission and Signature Service Standards.

In this essential position, you will perform phlebotomy, data entry, scheduling, and administrative tasks, ensuring patient safety and privacy.

Competenze

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification within six months of hire.
  • Successful completion of probationary period.
  • No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Descrizione del lavoro

The Lab Support Technician (LST I) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for providing accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support. The LST I will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service with all internal and external customer interactions. The LST I is responsible as required for the skillful acquisition of laboratory specimens for testing, utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. The LST I will be responsible for all processing, transport and referral of all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required. In order for the co-worker to achieve the competencies of the LST I position they must be observed by laboratory management or designee and complete all departmental checklists for the LST I position. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
  • College coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or other science-related fields
