A leading engineering firm is seeking a Network Engineer for a freelance project in Italy. The role includes assessing and documenting network infrastructure, evaluating IT/OT segmentation, and creating network topology diagrams. Ideal candidates should possess strong hands-on experience in network architecture and excellent collaboration skills.

Competenze

• Strong hands-on experience in network architecture, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, and Wi-Fi.
• Experience with server rooms, UPS systems, environmental controls, and rack design.
• Ability to document data flow, integration points, and network segmentation.

Overview

Network Engineer (IT Resource) – ITALY, FREELANCE PROJECT (1 MONTH)

Responsibilities

• Assess and document the network infrastructure: LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi.
• Evaluate IT / OT segmentation, zoning, and WAN redundancy.
• Survey server rooms (IDF / MDF), cabling infrastructure, storage, and hosting platforms.
• Collect detailed asset inventory of IT hardware and software.
• Create network topology diagrams, rack layouts, and fiber maps.
• Collaborate daily with the core team and client staff, without interrupting plant operations.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in network architecture, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN / WAN, and Wi-Fi.
• Experience with server rooms, UPS systems, environmental controls, and rack design.
• Knowledge of virtual machines, backup systems, and storage platforms.
• Familiarity with network discovery tools (when permitted) and Layer 2+ asset mapping.
• Ability to document data flow, integration points, and network segmentation.
• Strong reporting, diagramming, and daily collaboration skills.
