apetito is the UK’s leading food supplier to the health and social care sectors serving more than 600 care homes, 500 hospitals, as well as 200 education settings. Our meals are expertly crafted by our dietitians and chefs, and then frozen to lock in the goodness. For over 25 years, our sister company Wiltshire Farm Foods has been cooking and delivering over 300 different delicious frozen meals to our customers' homes.

The healthcare team are experts in the field, with a wealth of operational, managerial, and training experience and knowledge both within apetito and from previous roles within the healthcare industry. This provides us with a thorough and empathetic understanding of our customers, enabling us to fully support their strategy and vision. We supply catering products, systems, and services to healthcare organizations, both directly and through contract caterers.

Due to exceptional growth, we are creating an additional National Account Manager role, responsible for managing relationships and service delivery with a selection of blue-chip companies.

You will manage and develop strategic partnerships by building excellent relationships with the healthcare team and wider apetito team, ingraining yourself in your account portfolio. Your role will drive joint strategies and initiatives to deliver competitive advantages within contract lifetimes and capitalize on growth opportunities for apetito.

The National Account Manager will collaborate with all departments within the contract caterer's business, including operational, procurement, dietetic, and sales teams, supporting tenders and bids for new business. The goal is to grow revenue profitably and retain business at contract end.

This role offers an opportunity to promote our ethics and sustainability agenda, valuable to the NHS, and to work closely with the B2B Category Manager & NPD team to develop and innovate within the product range. Reporting to the Sales Manager (National Accounts), you will be a key member of the Healthcare National Accounts Team, working closely with Training, Operations, Catering Consultants, and Marketing colleagues.

This role is home-based, covering hospital sites and Head Office locations across the UK, involving early starts, late finishes, and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

The National Account Manager will oversee major accounts, focusing on management, sales growth, margin, and contract retention.

Supporting this, the role involves organizing and leading Monthly Strategic Review Meetings, supporting site meetings, and developing joint initiatives.

You will ensure targeted margins through activities like price increases, menu engineering, and more. You will also work with the contractor on bids to generate new business, aiming to stay ahead in the market and demonstrate leadership.

The role requires executing projects that provide competitive advantages, working swiftly and collaboratively with stakeholders internally and externally.

Networking across the contractor's estate, building relationships with clients and internal teams, will be crucial. Maintaining current contracts and working on new development projects are also part of the role.
