Research Centre PoliTeSse – Politics and Theories of Sexuality invites scholars to express interest in applying jointly with Massimo Prearo for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) on LGBTIQ+ Politics.
We welcome proposals that explore how LGBTIQ+ politics are being reconfigured amid current democratic backsliding and backlash against equality. Potential research topics include, but are not limited to:
Hosting research group / Supervisor
We seek applicants for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship to be hosted at the Research Centre PoliTeSse – Politics and Theories of Sexuality, Department of Human Sciences, University of Verona.
Founded in 2012, PoliTeSse is a leading Italian research centre dedicated to sexual politics, promoting critical approaches that combine theoretical innovation with empirical analysis across national and international contexts. Key topics include the institutionalization of queer claims, sexual citizenship, and anti-gender discourse impacts on democratic institutions.
PoliTeSse collaborates with national and international research networks, policy actors, civil society organizations, and academic institutions, providing a vibrant environment for scholars interested in advancing critical political research on gender and sexuality.
Supervisor: Massimo Prearo, assistant professor and senior researcher in political science, specializing in LGBTIQ+ politics, anti-gender mobilizations, political homophobia and transphobia, and movement-institution interactions in contemporary democracies.
Selected candidates will receive academic and administrative support from the Research Centre PoliTeSse and the University of Verona Grant Office for proposal preparation.
