Job summary

Avnet, a leading global distributor, seeks an Accountant for its Milan team. You will oversee day-to-day financial operations, manage month-end close, and ensure compliance with Local GAAP and US GAAP while collaborating with cross-border teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within Italian and international entities
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and controls
• Experience in general or tax accounting
• Familiarity with US GAAP
• Excellent English communication and collaboration with teams

Responsibilities

• Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company
• Oversee the automated processes for sales, purchases, AR, AP
• Prepare financial reports, manage the month-end closing and reconciliations
• Manage cash activities and reporting, including payment preparation
• Interact with tax authorities for audits and special requests
• Maintain and review financial records, including Fixed Assets Ledger
• Ensure compliance with local accounting legislation, tax laws, standards and reporting timeliness
• Manage intercompany and bank reconciliations
• Prepare VAT returns and liaise with local tax and legal consultants
